Article 2: How to use the Home page shortcuts

This Article will cover each shortcut displaying on the home screen.

Step 1: Once logged into StoryLine, the user is presented with the Home screen.

NOTE: Depending on your role and permission level, you might see different shortcuts.

Step 2: Clicking the "New Story" shortcut will open a blank package authoring screen.

Note: JIRA credentials are unique and not associated with your AD account. If you have trouble logging into the portal, please contact StoryLine Support using one of the contact methods. If you need a JIRA account, click "Sign up for an account” below the login fields.

NOTE: This screen is where you will create your stories and galleries.

Step 3: Clicking the "New Alert" shortcut will open a blank alert authoring screen.

NOTE: This screen is where you will create your weather, breaking news, and other alerts for your website.

Step 4: Clicking the “Add Media” shortcut will open a window to select media from your device to add to the StoryLine Media library.

NOTE: Depending on your computer's operating system, this window may look different.

Step 5: The "New Property" shortcut will take you to a blank property authoring screen.

NOTE: This shortcut is intended for a site administrator.

NOTE: This is where you enter settings to create a website.

Step 6: "Manage Users" shortcut is where new user accounts and permissions are set.

NOTE: This shortcut is intended for a site administrator.

NOTE: This is where administrators add and set user permissions.

Step 7: "Properties" will take you to the site tree for the properties to which you have permitted access.

NOTE: Your list of properties will vary by your station affiliations and permissions.

Step 8: Clicking the "New Notification" shortcut will open a blank alert authoring screen.

NOTE: This tool is used to create push notifications to direct mobile users to selected content.

Step 9: Clicking the "New Show" shortcut opens a blank alert authoring screen.

NOTE: This tool is currently only utilized by the Tennis Channel and is used to create a repository for new program content.

Step 10: The "Reports" shortcut is mapped to display reporting data in the future.

Step 10: Clicking the "System Status" shortcut , provides you with direct access to view the overall health of StoryLine.

Note: This tool provides access to view the overall health of StoryLine, Livestreams, clipping, publishing, and website health.

Note: For initial dashboard access, you will be prompted to login using SSO.

Step 11: Clicking the "Help" shortcut leads directly to the JIRA StoryLine Support Portal.
