Article 17: AI Script Conversion
The Sinclair Digital team is excited to announce the launch of a new AI-powered tool designed to assist in converting broadcast scripts into digital stories.
This tool is intended to streamline newsroom workflows by supporting producers in transforming broadcast news scripts into engaging digital content. While the AI enhances efficiency and offers valuable assistance, producers retain full control over editorial quality to ensure accurate and compelling storytelling. Ultimately, this initiative aims to empower producers and drive greater audience engagement across Sinclair's owned and operated digital platforms.
What's New:
- A "Convert Script to Story" button located in the lower-left corner, allowing you to transform a script into a story with a single click.
- A drop-down menu offering various tone options for the story, enabling tone customization.
Notes:
- The button activates as soon as text is detected in the body; however, it does not verify if the input text is a script.
- It is recommended to use the button only once per story to avoid unintended duplication.
- To adjust the tone after generation, delete the generated story text, re-paste the original transcript, and select a different tone.
- The AI may generate additional content or context beyond what is in the original script, especially if the script is brief or lacks detail. This risk is minimized when the original script is comprehensive and well-developed before conversion.
Step 1: Locate and observe the new button available in this feature.
Step 2: Copy and Paste the raw broadcast transcript into the text box provided. Click on "Convert Script to Story."
Step 4: Choose a tone from the drop-down menu. If none is selected, the default is "News."

Step 5: Select "Confirm" to generate a title and body text.

Step 6: Review the story for accuracy before publishing the package.
