Article 1: Uploading and publishing an MP3
Step 1: Create a Story
Navigate to the StoryLine home screen and select stories from the main menu on the left or the New Story card to create a Flash Briefing story.
NOTE: If you chose stories from the main menu on the left, you will also have to select + new story before you can begin.
Step 2: Enter a Title / Headline
Enter a Title / Headline that is descriptive, includes the time of the MP3 recording, and is easy to differentiate from other stories within StoryLine.
For Example: KOMO News Flash Briefing - 4:30AM - 09/14/2017
Step 5: Add Hero and Teaser images (optional)
Upload image(s) or browse the media library for image(s).
Once you have selected image(s), drag desired image(s) into the Hero and Teaser slots.
NOTE: Adding Hero and Teaser images will make it easier to visually identify your Flash Briefing story in StoryLine.
Step 6: Upload an MP3
Audio Requirements:
- The audio content should be 256kbps mono or stereo MP3.
- Content should not exceed 10 minutes in length.
- Program loudness should be -14 dB LUFS/LKFS. Alternatively, if not using LUFS or LKFS, loudness should target a Total RMS value between -15 to -13 dB. The true-peak value should not exceed –2 dBFS.
NOTE: Use Preview to listen to the MP3 prior to publishing the Flash Briefing story.
Step 7: Publish the Flash Briefing story
IMPORTANT: Alexa will only read the top story in position #1. While all new stories are defaulted to Teaser Placement #1, producers should double check prior to publishing.
Step 8: Confirm your Flash Briefing story is properly published
Navigate to the Alexa section by typing the URL (e.g. komonews.com/news/alexa) in your web browser.
NOTE: The Alexa section is only meant for internal viewing.
IMPORTANT: Alexa will only read the top story in position #1. Make sure the Flash Briefing story you just published is in position #1.
Click on the Flash Briefing story you just published to view the story detail page.
Click play to listen to the MP3 uploaded.
