Article 2: Managing media files with media access rights UI.
The Sinclair Digital team is pleased to announce of the media access rights.
The problem...
When a producer with access to multiple properties uploads or clips media assets, there is a potential for mistakenly assigning the wrong property to these assets. As a result, the local station producer may not be able to locate the intended media assets.
Our solution...
Introducing the ability to manage permissions on media assets. Upon upload, the media asset will automatically inherit and set the stations you have access to, maintaining your current workflow. Furthermore, depending on your permission level, you will have the flexibility to adjust permissions as required.
Notes:
- Global producers - Media assets will automatically inherit the global permission associated with the logged-in user. They uniquely will have the ability to designate additional stations with rights to access the media asset.
- Multi-properties producers – Media assets will automatically inherit multiple properties associated with the logged-in user.
- Single property producers – Media assets will automatically inherit the single property associated with the logged-in user.
- The "Manage Permission" option can be accessed exclusively from the media library. Media assets within a story package are only clones, and as such, the UI for modification is not accessible in this context.
Step 1: Click on the Media tab to enter the Media Library or click the 'Add Media' tile from the home page to start the media upload process.
Step 3: Select desired files and click open to initiate the upload.

NOTE: Depending on your computer's operating system, this screen might look different
Step 4: After a moment, a display will show the current upload in progress. As your images are uploaded, you will see a green success banner at the top of the screen.
Step 5: The newly uploaded media asset(s) will appear at the top of the media library stack.
NOTE: By default, the media library is sorted by most recently saved.
Step 8: Observe list of available stations.
NOTE: Observe the 5 stations the logged-in user has access to is automatically associated with the media asset (as shown in the screenshot).
Addition Details:
This feature also applies for clipped broadcast assets. As shown in the screenshot below, the clipped video inherits the permission level of the users logged in (current user has access to 4 properties).
Global Producer Permission - As shown in the screenshot below, your permission level uniquely allows you to add additional stations that can utilize the media asset.
Multi-Properties Producers - As shown in the screenshot below, you may notice a checkmark next to the property, indicating its availability across properties you don't have access to. While visible, this indicates that the asset is accessible to others, yet you won't be able to remove it from stations beyond your access privileges.
