Sinclair Owned content is content that is created, written, filmed, and photographed by Sinclair Broadcast Group staff. Denoting Sinclair Owned content is a preliminary step towards our Digital Rights Management (DRM) solution and it also enables  Facebook Instant Article eligibility.

Sinclair Owned is a required field in story creation, you must select 'Yes' or 'No' prior to publishing.
Select 'ON' to indicate Sinclair Owned content.
Select 'OFF' for content that is not owned by Sinclair.

To be considered Sinclair Owned, all content and media must be wholly owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group.

• If an article contains an AP image, even though we may have license to use the image, or any other stock photography or video footage, it is not considered Sinclair owned.
• If an article contains video footage that can be attributed to any entity other than Sinclair Broadcast Group, it is not considered Sinclair owned.

With the exception of embeds: 

• If the article contains embedded content, as long as all other content and media are owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, it is considered Sinclair Owned.

Articles with this flag set to 'ON' will be eligible to be formatted and published as Facebook Instant Articles. The website as well as the site's Facebook page must be set up for Instant Articles to be created. It's very important that you are certain an article meets the Sinclair owned criteria prior to toggling the flag as we do not want to create and distribute Instant Articles from content we do not own.
