Article 1: Create a Show Package and Save Draft or Publish

A show is a grouping of related videos based on an event or primary entertainment segment.  Shows can contain zero, one, or more seasons.  A season can contain zero, one, or more episodes or groups.  Alternatively, shows can contain zero, one, or more episodes or groups without using seasons.  Groups can contain zero, one, or more episodes.  This article focuses on just the creation of the show.  Please see Article 4: Add or Manage Episodes on Show Package,  Article 8: Manage Seasons on a Show Package, and/ or Article 9: Add or Edit a Group on a Show Package for details on how to add each of these components to the show.

A show can be created as a "Draft" and not be published by using the "Save" link.  When a show is ready for publishing, the "Publish" button is clicked and the show is considered "Live".

A show can be published with just Title, Teaser, Hero, Target, but If you publish without an episode, the show will run and no video will be available to play.  For example, If I’m a producer and I have an upcoming show,  I can publish with no episodes and use that show for a notice of an upcoming show.

Step 1: Click the "New Show" card on the home screen. Alternatively, selecting the "Packages" section from the nav menu will take you to the "packages" list page. Here, you can click the "+ new show" button to enter the same screen.

Step 2: Give it a Title — the name by which you and others will search for your Show Package. Give it a Target Section.

The Title and Target are required to save. Choose the "Free" or "On Demand" section in the Target.

The "Free" section is for content that everyone is allowed to see.  The "On Demand" section is used for premium content that requires a subscription.

In moments there will be a green box message stating that the show was saved. (The green box disappears after a few seconds). A grey draft badge now appears in the upper right corner.

Once a show has been saved, it can be previewed by clicking on the preview button.  This allows you to see the display results before committing to publishing it live.  The Article 10: Preview a Show Package or Episode explains this feature in detail.

Step 4: Enter required information to Publish.

Note:  This information may be saved and previewed prior to publishing the story live.

The Description, Teaser image, and Hero image are required to publish.

A hero and teaser image are uploaded from your local computer drive or from the media library (via browse).  The Article 5: Upload or Browse Teaser / Hero Images for a Show Package or Episode explains this feature in detail.

Step 5: Click the "publish" button.

In moments there will be a green box message stating that the show was published. (The green box disappears after a few seconds). A green Live badge now appears in the upper right corner.

Once a show is created, whether in "Draft" or "Live" mode, seasons, episodes, and/ or groups can be added. See the Article 8: Manage Seasons on a Show Package,  Article 4: Add or Manage Episodes on Show Package, and Article 9: Manage Groups on a Show Package articles for more details.
