Article 13: Edit Teaser

This article explains how to edit an existing teaser, and change the teaser placement in the lists.

From the "preview and teaser placement" page of StoryLine, you can preview the published teasers and edit teasers.

For more information on teaser placement, see Article 12: Preview and Teaser Placement.

Step 1: To go to the teaser management screen, click "..." and then "preview & teaser placement".

In the channel SITE TREE you'll see the property's taxonomy.  Each node represents a section or target for content to be published.

Currently, teasers are viewed and updated only on the "Home" page.  Click "..." on the "Home" node, then click "preview & teaser placement" to access the preview screen.  The preview shows what the "Home" page currently looks like to the audience.

Step 2: To go to the teaser lists, click the "edit teaser lists" icon.

On the preview screen, you can preview your content for the desktop view.  Click the "edit teaser lists" to make changes to the order of the teasers, come back to this preview screen to view the changes, and then click on the "Update" to publish the teaser edits to the audience.

Step 3: To edit the teaser content, click the teaser and when the "edit" icon appears, click it.

IMPORTANT: Only one person at a time can make changes.  If you are making changes and have not clicked  "update" yet and another person in the meantime publishes teaser changes, you will overwrite their changes when you do make your changes.  A message should appear warning you this will occur.  It is recommended that you refresh your screen and then reapply your changes.

Step 4: On the Edit Teaser screen, you can edit the teaser, the title, the description and the teaser image. When you have the content you want, click "save".

Here you can click "x" in the Teaser Link bar to choose another teaser.  The new teaser link will not pre-populate the existing populated Title, Description, and image.  (If you want this information prepopulated with the new teaser link selected you must clear out the title, description, and image.)

For detailed information on how to change teasers, see Article 6: Upload or browse Teaser / Hero Images for a Show Package or Episode.

The teaser placement screen shows the updated teaser with the updated "title" and "teaser image".

Step 6: The preview shows the changes as they would appear on the home page. Click "update" to publish these changes to the audience.

The preview screen gives you an opportunity to view your changes before actually publishing them.  If the changes look good, click on the "update".  If not, click on "edit teaser lists" to make more changes.

To advance the teasers in the preview, click the arrow and they scroll right or left by a whole page. If you come to the end of the teasers and you have, for example, only 2 teasers left, the page advances by only those two teasers.
