StoryLine Help Site"How To" GuideChapter 23: How to Use the Electronic Program GuideArticle 2: Add to Schedule (video, live stream, or episode)

Article 2: Add to Schedule (video, live stream, or episode)

This article shows you how to enter, preview, and save content that will then be displayed on the guide.  If not all the required information is added, the content can still be added as a "hidden" item or placeholder on the guide.

Step 1: To begin adding content to the schedule, click "program guides".

Step 2: In the PROGRAM GUIDE, hover the pointer over the "green line" where you want to insert a video, click it, and then click the "+ " icon.

This is actually a two-step process: 1) Select a time by clicking somewhere in the timeline and then 2) click the "+" icon that then appears.

Step 3: In the "Add to schedule" screen, click "browse library".

All of these types of content (video, episode, and live stream) essentially behave the same when adding information.

Step 4: Click "+ video" and you go to the Media Library. Select a video by clicking the "upper right-hand" corner, and then "attach selected".

Step 5: Edit or preview the data for the content added.

Upon uploading or browsing for a video, the Title, Summary, and Preview default with data associated with this content.  You may then update the "Title" and "Summary" to data you want to show on the schedule.

If you are attaching an episode, the hero and teaser image for the episode would be set automatically.

You can preview the video, by pressing the play button.

Note: These changes are only for your schedule and do not apply to the content in the media library.

Step 6: Click "x" in the Content bar and you'll be returned to the video library to select another.

Every time you choose another piece of content, the Title, Summary, and Preview will be replaced with the default data for this content.

Step 7: Check the timing on your video. The end date must be at least five minutes after the start time.

Step 8: The content must have a Hero and Teaser image.

Notice that when you first select a Hero or Teaser, both spots are filled with that image.  If you want to use a different image in one of this spots, you may upload another image.

If you don't add a Hero and Teaser, an error message details the missing data.  Please see  Article 6: Upload or Browse Teaser / Hero Images for a Show Package or Episode for more details.

Step 9: If you want to save the event without all required data, click "save hidden event".

Your event will be scheduled, but it will be hidden from the audience.
